Abstract

Purpose: This article aims to identify the diversity of practices in assessing real estate risk in valuation reports used for banking purposes and to evaluate the justification for their standardization.
Design/methodology/approach: Eight real estate risk assessment forms were analyzed, differing in origin: six were prepared by property valuers, and two were based on templates provided by banks. The study employed a qualitative comparative analysis focusing on the level of detail, completeness, and clarity.
Findings/conclusions: The study identified substantial heterogeneity in the forms used, including differences in the number of assessed risk factors, assessment methods, and clarity. The lack of standardized documentation may lead to inconsistencies in banks’ credit decisions.
Research limitations: The research was based on a limited sample, which may affect the generalizability of the conclusions. Further research involving a broader dataset is recommended.
Practical implications: The standardization of risk assessment forms can support the improvement of credit processes and facilitate compliance with supervisory requirements as well as international standards for quality and risk management (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 31000:2018).
Originality/value: The article contributes original insights into quality management in the financial sector by addressing the need for standardized risk analysis tools in property valuation.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to present the importance of quality labels in ensuring food safety, with a particular focus on the role of certification in shaping consumer confidence and supporting sustainable and responsible food production.
Design/methodology/approach: This study adopted an exploratory, descriptive, and explanatory perspective. The following research methods were used: analysis of literature sources, examination of secondary documents, and analysis of legal and industrial regulations.
Findings/conclusions: Quality marks guarantee the quality of a product, ensuring that the product has the characteristics specified in the application, and meets the specified requirements. Quality labels play an important role in food safety and quality assurance systems by promoting transparency in the supply chain, enabling informed consumer choices, and raising standards for food production.
Research limitations: The limitation of this study is the presentation of selected quality labels used most frequently in the food sector, mainly in Poland.
Practical implications: The results provide practical information and guidance for food chain actors, including consumers and food producers, on the specifics of quality labels and the selected elements of their certification.
Originality/value: The cognitive value of the work relates to identifying the significant role of certification in ensuring consumer confidence in quality labels and food system operators, and in supporting sustainable food production.

Abstract

Purpose: Quality culture has been the subject of interest of researchers for over three decades. The topic is taken up by scholars from different cultural backgrounds. However, despite this, there is still no consensual definition. This article aims to identify and summarize the definitions of quality culture in the Polish literature. It helps to understand the differences between the definitions of quality culture and its elements. It proposes a holistic interpretation of quality culture, thus it can prevent definition misunderstandings.
Design/methodology/approach: A scoping review (SR) of literature published 1999-2024 and indexed in databases: BazEkon, Biblioteka Nauki, Web of Science, Scopus, Katalog Bibliotek Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego was used. The review included 21 sources of evidence.
Findings/conclusions: Definitions of quality culture in the Polish literature were identified and summarized. The construct’s components were grouped into three categories: managerial, cultural, and connecting elements.
Research limitations: The SR focuses on one country while omitting others.
Practical implications: SR results can be used in the following areas: designing and implementing quality management systems, building internal communication, training and employee development.
Originality/value: The SR allowed to develop an original definition of quality culture.
