Reviewing procedure<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Reviewing procedure in\nSIGMA-NOT Publishing House<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1) If the scientific article fits the journal\u2019s\nscope, the Editor-in-Chief appoints two Reviewers of recognized competence\nwithin the field of research, preferably with professor or post-doctoral\ndegree. The reviewers must: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2212 deliver an objective, independent opinion, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2212 ensure no conflict of interests \u2013 they should\nhave no personal relationships or business relations with Authors, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2212 keep any information regarding the content\nand opinion confidential. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2) When the Reviewers are chosen, the\nEditor-in-Chief sends them a written offer with either a short description or\nan abstract of the article, defines range of reviews and sets a deadline \u2013 up to a\nmaximum of 6 weeks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

3) If the Reviewers accept the offer, the\nEditorial Board provides them with a full version of the article and an\nobligatory peer review report. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

4) Reviewers\u2019 personal details are classified\nand they can be declassified only at the Author\u2019s request and with the\nreviewer\u2019s permission in case the review is negative or the article contains\narguable elements. Once a year, the Editorial Board publishes in its journal\nthe full list of the Reviewers cooperating with the journal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

5) Once the review process is complete, the\nReviewer delivers electronic version of the review by e-mail and the Assistant\nEditor: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2212 informs the Author that the review has been\nsubmitted to the journal (when the reviewer states that the article does not\nrequire corrections or it requires only minor editorial corrections), <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2212 forwards the review with critical comments to\nthe Author, who is encouraged to make corrections suggested by the reviewer. If\nthe Author disagrees with certain remarks, he\/she is under obligation to\nprepare response letter substantiating his position. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2212 sends the revised article to the Reviewer\nagain, if the Reviewer finds it necessary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

6) The Editorial Board makes the final decision\nabout publishing the article based on analysis of the review and the revised\nversion of the article that the Author has resubmitted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

7) If one of the reviews is negative, the\nEditor-in-Chief makes decision about rejection of the article or invites an\nadditional reviewer so as to get an extra opinion before making a decision.\nWhen both reviews are negative, the Editor-in-Chief rejects the article. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

8) The final version of the article (after\nmaking up) is sent to the Author. The article is queued for publication, which takes a maximum of 6\nmonths. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

9) Non-scientific articles do not need to be reviewed and they are accepted for publication by the Editor-in-Chief. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
