Abstract

Purpose: The main objective of the article is to highlight the role of activities that improve the quality of education in reducing the dropout phenomenon, i.e., students abandoning their studies, particularly at the university level.
Design/methodology/approach: The issues discussed in the text stem from the observed phenomenon of an increasing number of students discontinuing their studies.
Findings/conclusions: An analysis of the available materials shows that higher quality education significantly reduces the occurrence of dropout cases.
Research limitations: Presented research results are limited mainly to Europe and Poland.
Practical implications: The issues raised in the article should inspire university authorities to improve the quality of education, aiming, among other things, to reduce the number of dropout cases.
Originality/value: In the literature on methods for reducing the dropout phenomenon, the aspect of the impact of improving the quality of education is insufficiently emphasized.
